Foma is a 4 letter “F” word you can say to your mom, teacher, preacher, or other authority figure without getting in trouble. Try it sometime! It’s fun.
I like to say things like, “Hey, Foma You!”, “What the Foma?”, “Foma off”, “Foma me”, “Foma this”, “Foma That”, “Ah Foma!”, etc… You get the point.
Q: Where did Foma come from?
A: Foma is a phrase from the Kurt Vonnegut novel, Cats Cradle. – “Live by the foma that make you brave and kind and healthy and happy.” – From The Book of Bokonon
Q: What is Foma?
A: In the book of Bokonon Foma is defined as the harmless un-truths or the little white lies we tell each other in society to keep the peace and civility.
Q: Why did you choose Foma as the name of your company?
A: It was a fluke. I got a song used in a TV show sometime around 1996 and when they paid me my writers share they asked who my publisher was so they could mail them the publishers share. I stalled for a brief second and said “umm, Foma Publishing”. I had just read the Vonnegut novel and that word had been dancing around my brain for the a few weeks. It just sort of slipped out… I received the publishers check a few weeks later and Foma was born.
Q: What is the main focus of Foma?
A: Our main focus at Foma is to help others develop and understand their own publishing assets, potential and needs. When utilized correctly publishing can tremendously increase the growth of any business. These days publishing media spans across the vast online and offline worlds. The Internet is quickly becoming a favorite outlet for publishing and should be well considered by everyone in business.
Currently the most effective marketing and advertising method is to combine offline and online campaigns to work together. Here’s a good example: You could start with a postcard mailing that would cost roughly $400 per thousand for the printing and postage. You would put an attractive offer with a web address to a unique landing page, for tracking, on the postcards. Then on the landing page you would have a simple opt-in form for people to enter their name, email, mailing address, phone number, etc… in return for an FREE informative report download, an invitation to join your private paid membership website, plus a mailed out brochure or catalog of your products and services. Add a few radio commercials and a TV spot if you can afford it and you have successfully published a full blown multimedia marketing campaign that is sure to create a surge of growth to your sales and reputation.
We do a lot of print work for our clients. Things like catalogs, direct mail promotions, postcard mailings, posters, trade show banners, brochures, flyers, business cards, stationary, envelopes and more.
We just recently finished a huge project developing a printing sales website that is truly state of the art. It was originally intended for internal sales reps to use for fast estimating and detailed production tracking like the old fashioned main frame computers use to do. But it works so well that I decided to release it to the public.
More and more people want to just place their orders online without personal interaction and this website gives them that option. With 30-40% lower prices on average, ease of use, speed of production and tracking details anyone can become a print buying expert in no time.
